Along with masks and sculptures, the gallery also features unique works of different kinds. There are, for example, beautifully designed shields, used in various tribal ceremonies. Most are carved in the shape of a sun, symbolizing strength, light, and vitality. Painted in bold, vibrant colors, such as red and white, they represent power and the connection to tribal ancestors. There are also decorated ram’s-horn sculptures and bracelets carved in the shape of a horseshoe, which—as in many cultures—symbolizes protection and livelihood.
